Festive-season freak-out? Fear not, Dreamers Market is here
Could it be, that the 'most wonderful time of the year' is nearly upon us? Yes, it's true, the Christmas Dreamers Market is finally here. The doors of the Riverside Theatres in Parramatta will be swinging open from 9:30am to 2:30pm on Saturday 16th December to provide you with all your Christmas (or other festive occasion) gifting needs.
As always, the team behind the Dreamers Market have invited only the finest artisans to show their wares. All lovingly and painstakingly crafted by their own talented hands and creative minds. All the products are 100% Australian handmade and what could be better than that? Whoever is lucky enough to acquire some of these goodies will know that they have been made with deep thought and intent, making them rather special and unique.
With over 25 different stallholders offering a wide variety of items, from baby clothes and homewares, to jewellery, art, ceramics and accessories, you're sure to find something for those special someones in your life. Here's a snapshot of the great finds the market will offer, for more stalls, check out the gallery.
Those of you looking for something really unusual and eye-catching, look no further than Industriana. Original vintage pieces and components are upcycled to create vintage-inspired, industrial-style lighting, furniture, homewares and hand-forged ironwork.
For a different range of items to show-off around the home, Chibasan Ceramics might have just what you're looking for. Each piece thrown on the pottery-wheel, carved, painted, stamped, decorated and glazed by hand, these ceramics are both beautiful and functional. There will be a variety of large and small bowls, vases, jars, cups and mugs available.
For your soft furnishings, Em Turner Designs has got you covered. Using her original illustrations and designs, she creates digitally printed fabric products and stationery. The products are all natural, using recycled materials and eco-friendly water soluble inks. Her latest collection is inspired by the impact of the changing seasons in her beautiful backyard.
Wryght Designs creates stunning, sustainable jewellery, perfect for those with a modern, simple style and a passion for leaving as little impact on the environment as possible. Aussie manufactured recycled sheet metals are used in this eco-friendly, chemical-free process, that still maintains the traditional techniques of metal-smithing. Brass, copper and silver are cut and textured by hand to produce this high quality, geometric jewellery.
If it's something more soft and adorable you seek, then Queen of Hooks Crochet will be on hand. Specialising in the Japanese art of Amigurumi, these little crocheted soft toys are so sweet. Each individual cuddle buddy is unique, be it the colour of the yarn, the faces or the features, they are sure to bring a smile to the faces of many.
Food2face combines two of my favourite things, food and skin care. While I realise these products aren't for eating, I absolutely love that my skin would be gobbling up all the goodness they hold. Food2face crafts a range of skincare completely free of chemicals, toxins, synthetic and artificial ingredients and fragrances. They are 100% made of super foods, so you have more control of nourishing your outsides the way we endeavour to feed our insides. Coffee exfoliant, Chocolate body scrub and Pomegranate night treatment are just a few of the products they'll have on offer.
With all that making me hungry, a stop by the Illa Langa Farm stall is in order. Using locally grown produce, most of which is grown on their own farm, you can grab a jar or two of their tasty range of jams, jellies, chutneys, pickles, sauces and butters. If you're anything like me, you'll grab at least one of each to enjoy a thorough sampling.
So, as I said, this is merely a snap shot of the wonderful wares available at the Christmas Dreamers Market. To experience the full market, head to Riverside Theatres in Parramatta on Saturday the 16th December, 9:30am – 2:30pm and give a nod to true artisan talent. The Dreamers Market team and all those who are a part of the market, work tirelessly on perfecting their crafts and would greatly appreciate your patronage.
