Do not forget to click pictures of your kids here – they will thank you for this wonderful gesture.

2. Bourke Street

The Christmas decorations in red and green across the street, the Jingle bells and the suspended decorations along the tram lines on Swanston Street make it difficult to miss these decorations, especially if you are wandering in the CBD. The animated windows of Myer store add some more attraction to this festive décor ,making sure your eyes stay glued to them. These decorations will be on from 1st December 2012 to 10th January 2013.

3. Melbourne Town Hall

This is the special gift from Victoria Council to Melbournians at Christmas. The Melbourne Town Hall is entirely gift wrapped in large red ribbons and toy soldiers, and this iconic landmark turns into a glittering phenomenon during the night time starting from 9 pm onward. If you thought the electrifying lights were the only attraction at this town hall then hold your breath. These lights also project different images and scenes on this building making it absolutely a must watch this Christmas season.

4. Flinders Street Station

This place is much more than just a station to commute. It's the central point where people come together and disperse to their own destinations. During Christmas season Flinders St Station bears a glamorous look with a huge Merry Christmas decoration displayed at the top of the building, which is illuminated very beautifully during the night time. It's almost impossible to miss this one if you are in the CBD. You can also kiss under the well adorned Mistletoe Bridge behind this station and revel in the spirit of the season.

5. New Quay
A gigantic Christmas tree and light pillars form the key attraction along the New Quay Promenade. The light pillars feature traditional Christmas carols and banners. You can take a stroll in this area and enjoy the wonders of Christmas adornments.
