Christmas Community Events are popping up all over Brisbane this festive season. They're a great way to connect with family and friends in a relaxed atmosphere. Most are free or low-cost and support worthy charities. Check out our list of top Christmas Community Events happening around town this year.

IGA Lord Mayor's Christmas Carols
When: Saturday 12th December 2015, 5 – 9:15pm Where: Riverstage, Gardens Point Road, Brisbane Cost: Free
A Brisbane Christmas tradition, the Lord Mayor's Christmas Carols in the city botanic gardens have been drawing large crowds for decades. This year's feature artists include Troy Cassar-Daley, Rachael Beck, Christine Anu, Alexa Curtis and for the kids Lah-Lah's big loud band. If you don't want to wait to watch them on TV make sure you get down to the Riverstage early to secure the best spots. Check the event website for further information.
Take advantage of the glorious Brisbane Summer nights by watching a movie under the stars at the pop-up Christmas outdoor cinema on Streets Beach. A range of family Christmas favourites will be screening throughout the series including The Muppet Christmas Carol, Elf, and It's A Wonderful Life. Check the event website for a full list of screenings, and in the event of cancellation due to poor weather check the Southbank Parklands Facebook and Twitter updates. Bookings are not required.
Christmas Fireworks Spectacular

Christmas In The Park
When: Saturday 28th November 2015, 4 – 8pm Where: Pine Rivers Park, Gympie Road, Strathpine Cost: Free
Christmas comes early to Pine Rivers Park. There's something here for the whole family – rides, markets, food stalls, and entertainment on and off the main stage. Visit Santa's Village (gold coin donation) to see the Christmas Tree competition, animal farm, face painting, kids Christmas craft workshops and Santa. On stage throughout the afternoon and evening you'll find local performers as well as Jimmy Giggle, Bananas in Pyjamas and Tim Campbell. Road To Bethlehem
When: Monday 14th December – Wednesday 16th 2015, Gates open 6pm Where: Watson Park Convention Centre, 337 Old Gympie Road, Dakabin Cost: Free
Step back in time to the first Christmas. Begin the evening in old Bethlehem, then join your 1 hour walking tour (wheelchair and stroller friendly) through the streets of town. In the immersive theatrical experience you'll encounter shepherds, Wisemen, angels, Roman soldiers, and of course baby Jesus. Christmas In Sandgate
When: Saturday 5th December 2015, 4 – 8:30pm Where: Einbunpin Lagoon Park, 21 Lagoon Street Sandgate Cost: Free
Come on down to Einbunpin Lagoon Park to celebrate Christmas. There will be kids activities such as face painting rock wall climbing, jumping castle, and outdoor movie 'Paddington'. Christmas At The Creek
When: Saturday 5th December 2015, 5 – 8pm Where: Cedar Creek Hall, 1 Chardon Bridge Road, Cedar Creek Cost: Free
Logan City's Cedar Creek community will host a family friendly Christmas Carols. There will be a sausage sizzle, cakes and drinks for sale, face painting, craft, and party bags for the kids to enjoy. Carols commence at 7pm. Check the event Facebook page for updates.

Annerley Junction Fair

This event keeps getting bigger and better each year. Bring the family along to enjoy a day of games, music, food, face painting, and live entertainment. Check the event website for details.
Christmas By Starlight
When: Sunday 20th December 2015, 4 – 8:30pm Where: Sirromet Winery, 850 Mount Cotton Road, Mount Cotton Cost: Free
Bring your picnic blanket along to relax on the green and enjoy the views out to the islands of Moreton Bay. Afternoon kids activities will include face-painting, jumping castle and an animal zoo. Wakerley Rotary Christmas Carols

Come along to this Christmas community event with free rides, face painting, live music, movie on the big screen (Big Hero 6), and to see the man himself, Santa.
