When I was growing up our family adhered to quite a strict Christian code, with my Mother being the main initiator of our religious teachings. Luckily for us, our dearest Mum could sense our dismay at attending church every week and so relaxed her rules somewhat, so that we were only expected to attend church services every second weekend. As a teenager, this time was usually 'fruitfully productive' as I remember using 'prayer time' during mass for sleep catch-ups, especially if we had been gallivanting the night before.
At the risk of sounding too flippant and being struck down by lightning (which is what I believed could happen), my religious background taught me that there are two dates on the religious calendar, that should be ear-marked as being special and worthy of, if not a whole family visit, at least a visit from me! The one date is Easter and the second one is, of course, Christmas! I used to love attending Christmas Eve Midnight Mass (time frame was short), but the main reason was, that once we had arrived home, Santa had usually been to visit, and we were permitted to open one present, before heading off to bed. Oh, the excitement! This could possibly be misconstrued as a bit of bribery on Mum's part!

Anyway, for all those out there, who, like me, accept that Christmas is the time to celebrate the birth of Christ (Santa really does not have the monopoly here, you know) here is a list of church services taking place across the Sunshine Coast.
