Sing your heart out this Christmas
Get into the holiday spirit by taking the family to one, or more, of the carols by candlelight events on the west side of Melbourne.

Most of them will taking place in the next two weeks so there will be lots of Christmas cheer to go around before the big day gets here.

The majority of the events are free but please check the details below for details on ticketed events.

Carols by Candlelight events this weekend

Event: Melton City Council's Carols by Candlelight 2015
Where: Hannah Watts Park, Melton
When: Saturday, 12 December 2015
Cost: Free
Details: Community group performances begin at 6:00 pm. Main stage performances at 7:30 pm. Parking available in Police Paddock, High Street. There will be food vendors offering coffee, pancakes, sausage sizzles, ice cream, and fish 'n' chips. Event: Wyndham Carols by Candlelight at Werribee Park
Where: Werribee Park Mansion
When: Saturday, 12 December 2015
Cost: Concession $10, adult $15, child (12 years and under) free, purchase tickets online athttps://events.ticketbooth.com.au/event/wyndhamcarols
Details: Mansion gates will open at 5:30 pm for an 8:00 pm start. Event will feature a depiction of the nativity and a number of singing groups, vocalists, and bands and roving cartoon characters. You are welcome to bring your own food and drinks or you can purchase food from vendors. Water will also be available at the mobile drinking water fountain. Event: Altona Carols by Candlelight
Where: Logan Reserve, Pier Street, Altona
When: Sunday, 13 December 2015
Cost: Free
Details: Plan to arrive at 7:15 pm for a 7:30 pm start. Bring your own chair or picnic rug. The event will be moved to St Mary's Catholic Church in the event of inclement weather.

Events: Carols in Queens Park, Moonee Ponds
Where: Queens Park, Moonee Ponds
When: Sunday, 13 December 2015
Cost: Free
Details: Kids' activities will take place from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm. Carols from 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm. There will be local groups and choirs performing as well as a number of vocalists. Food, refreshments, candles, and songbooks will be available for purchase. Contact Arts and Culture at (03) 9243 8888 for more information.


Carols by Candlelight events the weekend before Christmas

Event: Newport Carols by Candlelight
Where: The Substation, 1 Market Street, Newport
When: Saturday 19 December 2015
Cost: Adults $5, child $2 (12 and under), purchase tickets online
Details: From 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm. Performances by local musicians and groups. Glow candles available for purchase on the night. For further information, contact Newport Fiddle & Folk Club at info@nffc.org.au or call 1300 799 136.

Event: Carols by Candlelight, Yarraville
Where: Yarraville Gardens
When: Saturday, 19 December 2015
Cost: Free
Details: From 7:00 pm - 11:00 pm. The event will feature local performances and special guest artisits including an appearance by the big guy himself. The event will conclude with a fireworks display.

Event: Carols at the Castle
Where: Overnewton Castle, 51 Overnewton Road, Keilor
When: Sunday, 20 December 2015
Cost: Family of five $20, single $8, concession $5, purchase tickets online
Details: Gates open at 5:00 pm with the concert from 7:00 pm - 9:30 pm. There will be professional performers with appearances by Santa, elves, and fairies. Families are welcome to bring their own picnic but there will be food and refreshments available for purchase. Contact Brimbank City Council at info@brimbank.vic.gov.au or call (03) 9249 4000 for more details.

Event: Williamstown Carols by Candlelight
Where: Commonwealth Reserve Rotunda Nelson Place, Williamstown
When: Sunday, 20 December 2015
Cost: Free
Details: Kids' activities and pre-concert entertainment from 7:00 pm with the carols from 7:30 pm - 9:30 pm. The concert will be moved to Holy Trinity Church, Nelson Place, Williamstown in the event of inclement weather.
