Are your kids starting to ask where you're going for Christmas Carols this year? In Canberra we are spoilt for choice, with numerous family-friendly events held each weekend leading up to the big day, creating a sense of magic and excitement in the community. There are 20 events on this list to choose from, with many more advertised around local communities in the weeks to come. There will be formal church performances, casual community festivals and celebrations at our iconic landmarks. For more options, also check back with

Tuesday, 21st November
Seasoned Voices Christmas Carols will be held at St Andrews Church in Forrest, starting at 10:45am. See

Saturday, 2nd December
Love Christmas Love Canberra is a celebration at C3 Church Monash in Tuggeranong. There will be carols starting from 4pm with special guests
The Clancy's, as well as a festival from 5:30pm. See

Crace Christmas Carnival will be held at Crace Recreation Park between 4pm - 8:30pm with live music, market stalls, amusement rides, food, face painting, a visit from Mrs Claus and an evening of carols. See

Sunday 3rd December
12 Barks of Christmas is an evening of doggie fun and carols in Glebe Park, between 4pm - 7pm. This event is organised by the RSPCA and all funds raised from the sale of tickets will go towards caring for animals in their shelter. Tickets cost between $13 (children) and $25 (adults). See

Monday, 4th December
Andante Andante 'ABBA Choir' Christmas Fundraiser is a night of ABBA music and Christmas Carols in Braddon, to raise funds for the Dainere's Rainbow Brain Tumour Research Fund. Look out for Lucky Door Prizes and support this worthy cause by buying a ticket or two to the raffle. See

Saturday, 9th December
Belconnen Christmas in the Park is an annual community event hosted by Mosaic Baptist Church with food stalls, kids entertainment and activities starting from 5:30pm and Christmas Carols starting from 7pm. See

Sunday, 10th December
Christmas Concert at the High Court is a free event in their Great Hall between 1:30pm - 3pm. Helen Moore joins with Soprano Louise Page in carol singing, as well as solo, choral and brass performances. This free event requires online booking in advance, with no tickets available at the door. See

Alliance Church Woden Valley will be having a Community Christmas Celebration with carols, jumping castle, BBQ, petting zoo and family activities between 5:30pm - 8pm. See

Harrison Christmas Carols is organised by Northside Life Church and will be held at Mullion Park starting from 5pm. Enjoy a family friendly evening at the park and look out for Santa! See

Wednesday, 13th December
The 73rd Annual Canberra Carols by Candlelight will be held at Commonwealth Park and feature the
Woden Valley Youth Choir as well as local Canberra bands and soloists. Look out for the special guest appearance by Santa. This free event will begin at 7pm and finish at 9:30pm. See

Monday, 11th December**
Carols Under The Stars will be performed by the
Gospel Choir at Pearce Shops at 7:30pm. See

Saturday, 16th December
The Christmas Carol Ball, organised by Earthly Delights, is a period ball from the 1800's, where you can dress up in costume and enjoy the music, carols and dancing from a bygone era. Tickets cost $22.50 per adult, or $65 a family. See

Googong Christmas Carols in the Park will be held at Beltana Park between 6pm - 8pm. Join the
John Agnew Brass Band and
The Sisters and Brothers Community Choir in carol singing and enjoy dinner from the sausage sizzle. Santa will also be making an appearance with the Rural Fire Service fire trucks. See

Christmas Carols at Lanyon Homestead is an annual event, with carols by the
Sing Australia Choir and
Tuggeranong Valley Band and activities for the kids such as traditional Christmas ornament-making. Step back in time and enjoy this family event between 5pm - 9pm. The cost is $10 per car. See

Sunday, 17th December
Carols in Town Park in Tuggeranong, presented by the Salvos, will feature Amber Nichols (from "
The Voice"), Katie de Veau,
The Salvation Army's National Capital Band, the
Tuggeranong Salvation Army Timbrels and Canberra's local choir. The kids will enjoy jumping castles, pony rides, farm animals plus much more. The festival begins at 4:30pm and the carols at 6pm. See

St Johns Baptist Church in Reid will be hosting the Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols, which includes carols, hymns and readings. Don't forget to go back on Christmas Eve for more carols and festivities. See

Tongs n Songs is a Christmas Carol event organised by Waters Edge Anglican community in Googong. This Christmas event will be held at Beltana Park between 5pm - 9pm with food, BBQ, carols and an entertaining telling of the Christmas story. See

Christmas Programme at the National Carillon runs between 6:30pm - 7:30pm, with Christmas carols performed by Senior Carillonist Astrid Bowler, up at the top of the tower. See
