St Andrews at Lutwyche presents Christmas Carols with a difference this Sunday 8 December.

As one of the oldest churches in the Northside, they are blessed with 13 bells in the belfry, covering one and a half octaves which enable carols and hymns to be played by percussion music. Each bell was blessed with the final 5 bells added in 1938 and blessed by Archbishop Wand. All of the church bells were made in England at John Taylor & Co or Taylor's Bell Foundry in Loughborough.

John Taylor & Co, commonly known as Taylor's Bell Foundry, Taylor's of Loughborough, or simply Taylor's, is the world's largest working bell foundry. Located in Loughborough, in the Charnwood borough of Leicestershire, England, the business originated in the 14th century and became Taylor's after the Taylor family took over in 1784.

The Christmas Carols at 5pm on Sunday 8th December will have 30 minutes of bell ringing, so there is every reason for you to come with your bells on.

This line up is complemented by the Brisbane Symphonic Band and Big Band. Come face to face with these talented musicians, some of whom have performed with Opera Queensland, and a number of cabaret-style concerts.

Bring your friends, your pets and a picnic blanket for a special evening. Car parking is available at the Kedron Park Hotel next door.
