This November and December, Sydneysiders can look forward to an abundance of Christmas cheer when The Grounds of Alexandria partners with Disney for a collaboration to promote Disney's new film The Nutcracker and the Four Realms. Guests will be overwhelmed with magic, mystery and holiday charm, as they immersive themselves in a magical walk-through experience.

The Grounds of Alexandria plans to take inspiration from the movie and bring the marvellous story to life, transforming their laneways into a series of magical realms that include the Land of Snowflakes, the Land of Flowers and of course the Land of Sweets. Photo opportunities will be available around every nook and cranny, as Nutcracker inspired treats are sprinkled across each unique space.

The Land of Snowflakes will allow guests to journey through a mystical winter wonderland filled with fairy-lit Christmas trees and sparkling snowflakes. Drosselmeyer's Grandfather clock will chime three times a day to signal the fall of fresh snow, allowing everyone to feel an authentic Christmas experience. Snowflakes fall every day at 10am, 12pm and 2pm.

The Land of Sweets will resemble a land conjured by the Sugar Plum Fairy herself. Guests will be able to immerse themselves in larger than life sweets of every description. Best of all, there will be plenty of unique sugary treats and desserts to devour. Whether you enjoy sugar, spice or all things nice, you are sure to walk through twice. Meanwhile, the Land of Flowers will provide a dreamy landscape filled with blossoms inspired by the film. Guests can expect cascades of flowers, light and colour around every turn.

There is a stellar lineup of delightful desserts to match the theme. The Land of Flowers Pink Pavlova seems to be a standout, featuring rose water meringue, mascarpone, jasmine and pistachio cream, in addition to mango confit, mango, raspberries and Turkish delight jelly. Drosselmeyer's Scroll will also be sure to satisfy, featuring wild blueberry sponge rolled with blackcurrant, blueberry and violet confit, in addition to vanilla buttercream and edible flowers.

The incredibly photogenic food doesn't stop there, with Hawthorne's Garden and Hawthorne's Delight sure to make an impact. The first is a showcase of elderflower and peach sponge, rolled with fresh mango confit, coconut and lime buttercream in addition to raspberry confit, all garnished with florals and served with fresh peach and elderflower sorbet. The later is a fresh and fragrant combination of pineapple and lemon verbena cheesecake, in addition to a pineapple and lemon verbena jelly centre on a vanilla shortbread base finished with edible flowers.

The Grounds of Alexandria will also be conjuring festive concoctions to suit the surroundings. Sugar Plum Soda will undoubtedly be the highlight. It features a mixture of plum soda and vanilla ice cream, topped off with fairy floss and a sprinkle of glitter.

Here are some of the extravagant menu items that guests can expect:

Christmas at The Grounds will also feature a series of special events, including the "12 Wines of Christmas" and a "Christmas Wreath Making Masterclass". The wreath making workshop will be led by floral experts from the team behind The Grounds Florals by Silva. Guests will be invited to a fairy-lit garden for the workshop allowing everyone to bring their very own festive wreath to life.

Santa will also be making regular stopovers at The Grounds this Christmas. Guests will be invited into his home from 9:30am until 3:30pm daily, starting on Saturday 15th December right up until Christmas Eve. It's the perfect place for the whole family to have a photo, pets included.
