The Potters and Sculptors Corner (corner Ashmore and Carrara, Benowa) will transform into a Christmas marketplace, with a collection of handcrafted gift stalls available on Sunday November 25th. The range on offer was the attraction for me last year. There's jewellery, ceramics, sculpture, wood turning, paper craft, weaving and much more, alongside demonstrations, live entertainment and gourmet Christmas treats to enjoy. There's also a free kids Play with Clay table, which will keep little ones busy, while you enjoy browsing the craft tables and watch the demos. The demos include pottery wheel throwing, pastels, woodturning and spinning.
[ADVERT]The Cups 2 Go coffee van, sausage sizzle, and cake table will provide your morning tea. Eat and relax under the trees, listening to the sounds of live entertainment of Chris Browning's Trio. There's a lovely outdoor ambience to enjoy.
The stall line up will include the creative talents of: Sunny Daisy Tie Dyed Creations, Earthly Essentials, Tracey's Paper Craft Creations, Savage Kitten, Retro Handcrafts, Gold Coast Hinterland Spinners & Weavers, Gold Coast Woodturners, Picasso's Ceramics, Derek Rintel Lapidary and sculptor Rob O'Connor.
The market will coincide with the final day of the GC Potters annual members exhibition, taking place in the Clay Art Benowa Gallery (in the grounds). With unique exhibition pieces for sale, the official opening will be held on Sat 10th Nov at 3pm. The gallery will be open over three weekends (Sat 10th to Sun 25th November) from 10am – 4pm.
The Christmas Art and Crafters Market offers the opportunity to buy a unique handmade gift for someone special. It's also a far more enjoyable experience than battling the crowds in large shopping centres, on the run up to Christmas.
