What are the three things you should never discuss at the dinner table? That's right - money, politics and religion.

Of these, religion gets the prize for generating the most debate and disagreement. At our dinner table, however, we often talk about religion so long as it's done with respect for other people's views and with an understanding that no question is a silly question. But how do you answer questions such as:

Who is Jesus?
Why is so much conflict and war related to Christianity?
How can a loving God make his Son suffer in the way he did?
Why does God allow people to suffer?
Is resurrection even possible?
Can we prove that God exists?

The answers are often difficult to find and harder to explain. All of them are, however, important and need to be considered, discussed and challenged. And that is where the Christianity Explained course can help.

St Thomas' North Sydney is running the FREE Christianity Explained course over four weeks from Tuesday 6 May to Tuesday 27 May 8pm - 9pm at the Parkview Building, St Thomas' North Sydney, Cnr Church & McLaren Streets, North Sydney, NSW 2060.

This FREE course allows people to explore Christianity in a non-confrontational and informal setting. You don't have to talk. You don't have to pray. The purpose of the course is to give an overview of the Christian faith and to allow time for questions without putting anyone on the spot! Diverse groups of people with different experiences, backgrounds, views and beliefs have attended the course – some to observe and listen, others to express views or challenge ideas.
