We have recently moved to Buderim. So, after a weekend of unpacking many boxes and assembling a now wonky furniture package, we decided to treat ourselves to breakfast in the main street.
We had a short wander down the road and came across The Chopping Block Cafe. You can find it at 70 Burnett Street and bookings can be made on (07) 5476 6411. The cafe is BYO and opens from 6:30 am everyday.
On a warm day the front bi-fold doors are fully opened and tables are set out on the footpath, giving the cafe a very European feel. (If you avoid looking at the rear of the cafe, you can almost pretend that you are in a little European cafe in the middle of spring.)
We sat out the front after placing our order; eggs benedict for me, two Big Block breakfasts and a vegetarian option for my companions. We also ordered coffees and tea which come out almost immediately. I like when there is a break between drinks and food, it gives one time to stop and smell the coffee. But, if you prefer to have your meal and beverage at the same time, I would recommend letting the friendly staff know.
Our meals were delicious, and even though an egg was forgotten (my companions are quite fussy and their orders proved very confusing) the staff were more than happy to whisk out the back and provide a freshly poached egg presented on a bed of baby spinach - now that's what I call service.
The Chopping Block Cafe is a great cafe for a quick cuppa or a lunch date. The cafe offers a loyalty card and a specific take-away area for the busy professional.
With a great location and great food, we've already been back - twice.
