A dog friendly eatery on the Town Green
Chop 'n Chill is a breakfast cafe, restaurant and bar that is located on the Town Green in Port Macquarie. It is a relaxed and welcoming venue with outside tables which look over to the Hastings River, as well as cosy tables for two in the sunshine. The inside of the restaurant is an attractive mix of industrial and quirky, with a bar and plenty of beers on tap.

Outside the restaurant there is a 3-level dog bowl, to cater for all doggy sizes, which shows that it welcomes your furry friends. According to the owners, Chop 'n Chill is "about bringing family and friends together to share food, reminisce about good times and celebrate special occasions". On our recent weekend away to visit family in Port Macquarie, Chop 'n Chill was the perfect place to do just that!

On our visit to Chop 'n Chill, we booked an outside table for breakfast and everything looked fresh and flavoursome on the extensive menu. We all had the same idea and chose the "Chop 'n Chill Town Green - An easy breakfast dish of smashed avocado, roasted tomatoes, goats cheese and pesto on thick-sliced white toast" and my daughter enjoyed the "Continental Waffles topped with seasonal fruit, whipped cream and Canadian maple syrup". We went up to the counter to place our order and then it was delivered to our table quickly with a friendly, Port Macquarie smile.

Our avocado meals were beautifully presented, with a delicious blend of pesto and goats cheese dotted around the outside and soft avocado and roasted tomato on a thickly-cut toast slice - which was soft enough to cut with ease. I could easily have this breakfast every morning of the week, alongside the best coffee I have found in Port Macquarie. My daughter inhaled the waffles at lightning speed, so we were all left full and satisfied!

This restaurant is also open for lunch and dinner, with a tasty menu which includes Asian fusion, international flavours and fresh, Aussie favourites. Think nachos, quesadillas, wings, calamari, Thai beef salad bowls and burgers - it has it all! If you have children, then book a table outside so they can run around on the grassy lawns in front of the restaurant and play in the playground - soon to come! Also, check out their Facebook for the latest specials and live music information. This local business is doing so well that it has also opened up another restaurant in another beautiful location, further up the coast at South West Rocks.

If you're on holiday in Port Macquarie, or a local looking for somewhere new, then book an outside table at Chop 'n Chill and enjoy the family-friendly, dog-friendly, holiday vibe. Be warned - you may not want to leave...
