is a new restaurant on Barrack Street in Perth serving Hong Kong style barbecue roast meats and various Singaporean and Malaysian dishes.

The first thing you see when you approach the restaurant (besides its more "colourful" neighbour) is a modern and welcoming exterior. You can even stop along the sidewalk and watch the chefs chop meat and plate dishes at the barbecue station through the front window.

Grab a menu on the way in and seat yourself where ever you like. Orders and payment are taken at the front counter and you'll be given a number for your table.

Complimentary tea is available from the self-service counter at the back of the restaurant. Here, you can help yourself to cutlery, napkins and various condiments. The condiments include freshly cut chilli, chilli oil and even freshly chopped spring onions. Soy sauce and vinegar are available to dress the above.

To sample their signature roasts, I ordered the two meat combination with rice ($12.50). I selected roast duck and roast pork belly but you can also opt for their caramelised BBQ pork and roast chicken. The serving size was generous and the dish even came with a bowl of soup on the side. A complimentary bowl of soup is the norm when you have this dish in Asia, but is not always provided in Perth. To me, this little touch shows just how much care the owners have put into the place.

As for the food itself, the skin on the duck was delightfully crispy while the skin on the roast pork had a very satisfying crunch. The meats were juicy, tender and flavourful while the rice was lightly flavoured in the Hainanese style with hints of chicken stock, ginger and garlic. A sweet and tangy sauce tied all the elements of the dish together and everything was topped off with a sprinkling of fried shallots and spring onion. Every bite was an explosion of texture and flavour. The dish also comes with chicken rice chilli if you need an extra spice kick.

If you aren't a fan of rice, you can opt to have your roast meats with noodles. also serves Hainanese style poached chicken on top of their roast meats. Some of their appetisers include lotus chips, spring rolls and spicy soybeans. And for the health conscious, steamed Chinese vegetables are available on the menu. If none of that strikes your fancy, you can even order a hearty bowl of laksa.

The restaurant is a good size, with a clean, cosy and modern interior. However, the entryway itself is slightly awkward, as that is also where the payment counter is located. When lots of people are lining up to order, it can be difficult to enter the restaurant.

The only other letdown for me was the chilli oil from the self-service counter. The restaurant had burnt the chilli, and the resulting bitterness ended up drowning out the fragrance of the aromatic oil.

Overall, I quite enjoyed my experience at . The staff are all bright and friendly, the food is good and the servings are generous. If you happen to be in the CBD and enjoy your roasts meats, definitely add this place to your to-do list.
