I am so tired of people saying that you cannot lose weight by consuming carbs and that you lose weight by consuming protein. The same goes for energy, as people preach to me that our body’s energy comes from protein. I beg to differ. I believe that we get our energy from carbs!

Personally, I allow myself 3 mini-meals each day, 2 smoothies and a sensible dinner.

Would you like to know what some good mini-meals are? Here you go:

Oatmeal
-prepare a cool smoothie with oatmeal or consume oatmeal hot in a bowl. I love smoothies and I love warm oatmeal in a bowl with some jam on top.



Beans
-a good source of protein, especially black beans, and stops your blood sugar from spiking. I love, love, love chili! A few days ago, also, I was given a bunch of peppers. I love stuffed pepper soup, but now instead of beef, I am going to use black beans to bulk up the soup!

Bananas
-an excellent source of carbs, also containing fiber and starch, which are good for controlling hunger. I love bananas, but so expensive. I can only buy bananas occasionally.

Bread
-yes, whole wheat bread is the rage. However, white bread still has vitamins and minerals. Personally, I love a good loaf of Italian bread with some good lunch meat!



Cereal
-wholegrain cereals can contribute to our daily consumption of fiber, iron, B vitamins and protein. Have you eaten Cheerios your whole life? You are doing good!

-Whole-wheat pasta
As with whole-wheat bread, both are packed with fiber, filling you up and satisfied.
