FREE family train heritage fun day
Many people love trains and events associated with them. This event is a free train heritage fun day. It will appeal to train lovers big and small, as well as the general public.

The Choo Choo Festival has something for the whole family, whether you are an adult, a teenager, a senior, or a child. This community event will be held at The Australian Technology Park, Locomotive Street, South Eveleigh, where they will celebrate the rich railway heritage of the locomotive workshops.

Some of the free events/activities at this festival include:
A jumping castle
Trackless train rides
Vintage trains and buses
Inflatable train obstacle course
Lego L Gauge Display from SydLUG - a fascinating display made purely from Lego - they will have a MOC train and city layout on display.

Mungo Scott model train display from Sydney Model Railway Society

Heritage Tours
Duplo and wooden train play
Bubble Disco - this is dancing with glow sticks, lights, music and plenty of bubbles. You can try popping the bubbles falling from the ceiling while you dance!
Train History Tours
Trains trains and more trains!

There will be music for children as well as the adults. This will be by legendary Sydney DJs playing your favourites all day long at the Bubble Disco.

There will be the likes of:

Owen Penglis
Kween G

Emma Ramsay
Paris Groovescooter
DJ Haloumi

Some of the snack on offer include:

Fundraising Sausage Sizzle by Alexandria Scouts
Fundraising baked sale goods by Chippendale Childcare Centre
Mr Whippy Van soft serve

Choo Choo Festival will be on Sunday 21st October 2018, from 10.00 am until 4.00 pm.

You can catch a train, and it will be a 200-metre walk from Redfern Station. Here there is pram access via the lift.

If you come by car, bear in mind that there is limited car parking. Pre-booking is essential by downloading an app for the Divvy car-park on site. You will be unable to just turn up and drive in. There are lots of people who use the car park, so booking early is recommended if you plan on driving.

This event is presented by Decode Media and made possible by Mirvac and Centuria. It will be an interesting event, so make sure you make a note of the date!

There are no lifts at Redfern station from most platforms. If you’re coming from the Kings Cross/Cronulla line there are escalators but otherwise it’s very long stairs that you have to carry the prams up and down.
