I realise by writing this article - about a chocolate doughnut cafe opening recently in Surfers Paradise - I may be responsible for the failure of many new year's resolutions, for which I apologise.

But, sometimes resolutions are meant to be broken and what better place to do it than a cafe devoted to chocolate, doughnuts, desserts, ice cream and coffee.

Chocolateria San Churro[/LINK] is Australia's favourite Spanish chocolate cafe, offering the best Churro in town (Spanish doughnuts) served with thick dipping chocolate and Spanish caramel, as well as other decadent naughty treats to make you drool.

They already have a popular cafe in South Bank Brisbane and now they have set up home on the Gold Coast , so we can get our chocolate churro fix too - they opened in Surfers Paradise in December 2012.

They have an extensive menu of yummy temptations including their speciality Churro with various dips, extras and fruits together with a huge range of delicious desserts, chocolates, ice creams, sundaes, shakes, smoothies, hot chocolate and coffees and teas.

Menu:

Located in the newly redeveloped Circle on Cavill, just off Surfers Paradise Boulevard, it is in a premium spot and certainly worth a visit if you are out and about in Surfers and fancy something a little different to the usual coffee places and bars.

The staff were very sweet, to match the chocolate, and made you feel very welcome as soon as you walk through the door.

They have a large covered outdoor seating area and a large area inside too, so whatever the weather or time of day you will be sure to find a seat where you want.

The "churro for one" that I had was so delicious - although I am unsure how doughnuts and melted chocolate could taste bad - but the churro was perfect and crispy and the chocolate was thick and creamy and strawberries bright and ripe. Yum, in fact, if it was socially acceptable I would have licked clean the chocolate pot.

They have a small shop too, where you can get some treats to take home.

They are right when they say one just won't be enough, I very much could have had the same thing all over again it was so lovely. It's an ideal place to treat yourself, the kids or meet up with mates.

In fact, it's just next door to the strike bowling bar - why not make it interesting and the loser buys the churro.
