Just 5 ingredients and 5 easy steps
Do you love to make your own raw slices? I personally love an easy raw slice recipe, which I can make for my family and not worry too much about how "naughty" it is for them - and for me. Although this recipe, below, isn't 100% healthy, with some sneaky chocolate, maple syrup and dates added for sweetness, it is much healthier than buying a cake or slice from the local supermarket. When you make it yourself, you also know what it is made from, so you can reduce your salt intake and be happy that you aren't eating any added nasties. You also don't need to cook it, so it doesn't get any easier!

I have experimented with various ingredients for this recipe, but this final version is the most delicious... and it only has 5 ingredients! Why don't you make it today?

Ingredients

1 cup unsalted cashews
1 cup pitted dates
1/2 cup Hulled Tahini
2 Tablespoons maple syrup
1 cup Nestle Milk Choc Bits
Desiccated coconut for topping (optional)

What To Do

Step 1: In a food processor, add the unsalted cashews and blitz until as fine as possible.

Step 2: Add the tahini, maple syrup and dates. Blitz until a dough forms and the mixture is combined.

Step 3: Scoop out the mixture and place into a lined loaf tin. Press down firmly with the back of a fork.

Step 4: Place the Choc Bits in a microwave-safe bowl and heat in the microwave at 30-second intervals, until melted and smooth. Pour over the slice base and smooth over. (Optional: sprinkle over desiccated coconut if desired).

Step 5: Place in the fridge for a couple of hours. When set, slice up into squares and serve.

These little squares are a delicious combination of sweet and savoury at the same time. If you like the taste of tahini and sesame, then you will enjoy these little morsels of goodness. But beware...
