Oasis in the burbs

The heart of Paddington has been favoured with the opening of Chocolate Orange in the iconic building where Mary Ryan and Black Cat Bookshop once stood. The extraordinary re-vamping has been a passionate one for Mother and Daughter team Anastasia and Naomi.

Come and experience a 'fine cafe' where history has been preserved with a twist.

On arrival you will be welcomed by a beautiful warm smile by one of the amazing staff.

Then prepare to be mesmerised with this unique space.

Feast your eyes on the fabulous display of luscious in-house baked goodies, made with only the finest ingredients to tantalise your taste buds. The irresistible sweet treats are impossible to by pass and many more special surprises are created daily by Anastasia.

From the menu you may choose numerous tempting savoury delights such as traditional Greek Spanakopita, Savoury tarts, Fish Cakes and a large array of freshly prepared Salads all of which may be taken home.

You might wish to imbibe in the all day breakfast or lunch cooked just the way you like it.

Word has it the special ingredient that Chocolate Orange Espresso adds to all their food is love, however there is also an amazing amount of care taken in choosing chemical free, organic, fresh ingredients for their recipes.

A large range of Gluten free alternatives are also available, and the Chefs here are more than happy to customise orders.

This cafe boasts that they have baristas who are passionate about their coffees and will serve a quality hot brew every time. Or come and try their amazing in house organic chai tea made to perfection.

Thirsty? - you will be spoiled for choice with cool drinks this summer. Come and try the moch banana or mango crush smoothies, milkshakes, frappes or iced coffees.

Chocolate Orange is like a delightful layer cake, beginning with the street level where intimate tables and cosy booths sit. Downstairs is the quirky sunroom which overlooks the secret garden. The sunroom is the perfect place to hold a tea party or meeting. The final layer is the garden deck - the icing on the cake - a virtual oasis, where you may sit among the sub tropical trees soaking in the beauty of it all - alfresco dining at its best.

So, it's early morning in your working week and you're in a rush. No problem, just phone your order through and collect from 5.45am at the Footpath Pit Stop.

Mums are welcome to while away the morning hours with a coffee whilst their children play under the gazebo, or in the fairy garden with toys.

They are also supporters of local musicians so come along on the 1st Saturday afternoon of each month and chill out whilst enjoying free music on the deck.

Make no mistake Chocolate Orange is not just another cafe, it's a destination!
