Too long have I yearned for the elusive, the stuff dreams are made of; the can't-find-only-exists-in-dreams kind of stuff. My girlfriends and I have often joked about 'the day when …' and inserted a word or phrase that we know would never come true. That is until now. Hold on to your hats because Mirdif city centre has well and truly delivered.
Chocolate Bar is the newly opened chocolate bar and restaurant in the mall, and boy oh boy is it a sight for sore eyes. Bright, airy, plushy chairs, and of course, what I'm talking about: chocolate, cupcakes, pastries, but mostly dip-your-finger-in-and-it-will-burn-you double chocolate fondue.
You might be thinking that's it? But you've clearly never been. The chocolate fondue isn't any old melted chocolate; those at Chocolate Bar have mixed a variety of the finest imported cocoa beans so to create an incredibly rich, deep milk chocolate that has a glassiness that you could do your make-up in.
It's not just fondue though. On to the brownie. Now, everyone knows I'm somewhat of a brownie snob because I make them myself and everyone loves my brownies, everyone knows me for my brownies. So, dubious as I was, I ordered the brownie. It really blew me out the water.
Chocolate Bar (no not your favourite cocoa bean treat - the bar and restaurant) seems to have answered our prayers. With a clever title and the connotations around chocolate making for a stand-out impression, they have got off on the right foot.
We weren't the only ones drawn to the alluring Chocolate Bar. It was busy considering it was nearing midnight, and yet they weren't kicking people out. My kinda place.
Expect the usual pleasant customer service - attentive but not pushy, plenty of smiles and staff calling you 'sir' and 'ma'am'.
You could argue the staff didn't need to pay too much attention to their customers because the food speaks for itself, and the scent of melted chocolate will spark the most health-conscious folk's curiosity.
