No ordinary apples here - mouth watering chocolate treats
A road trip around Victoria saw us stay in several places, one of which was Shepparton. It didn't disappoint.
The Chocolate Apple Factory mentioned on Trip Advisor spiked my interest and it was well worth the visit. This family-owned business diversified from just producing fruit in their 22 hectare orchard after experiencing drought, frost and hail in 2004.
It started with juices, liqueurs and condiments and then in 2007 came the gourmet chocolate apple. Pink lady apples dipped in a creamy caramel and then coated in chocolate and decorated with various lollies. Amazing treats you get to try before buying.
Being a chocolate lover, this place was divine. I came away with pear juice, a mint chocolate apple and a peanut and malteser chocolate apple as well as crunchy chocolate spiders, white chocolate raspberry jellies, and more. It was Easter Monday and for the first time had not bought any Easter eggs as we were travelling. These goodies were the replacement.
The mint chocolate and the peanut and malteser chocolate apples I bought - Heaven!
The chocolate apples are huge and come covered in everything from marshmallows to M&M's and cherry ripe pieces. They start from $8 for simple ones with the more intricate ones we bought costing $12 each. They wrap them in clear cellophane and a ribbon if you want to give them as a gift. They also do orders and special apples for weddings and holiday themes for Easter and Christmas.
