Chocolat Of Mornington ( named after the movie) is a lovely little French patisserie that opened in Mornington less than 5 months ago and in that short space of time they have created a huge customer following.

It's not surprising when you see all the amazing pastries, cakes, tarts and many more products on display at Chocolat.

I have been told their coffee is fantastic. Coffee and cake go hand in hand, so it's a great recipe for success. However these are not just any cakes or pastries, they are made by pâtissier Ross Saunders.

The only thing I'm not so keen on is the position of the shop (off Main St) and the size. It feels a little tucked away and lacking space, however don't let that turn you off - it's the food that makes Chocolat.

What I really like about Chocolat is the authenticity of the food which is produced in full view of customers. It gives the shop a warm inviting atmosphere and you can tell there is a lot of passion in the food produced here.

The shop itself has a modern vibe with an orange colour theme. There are a few wooden tables and chairs inside the shop and a trendy bar with stools out the front. Staff are friendly and attentive.

Chocolat are also running cooking classes where you can learn how to make puff pastry, macarons, master the art of beautiful meringues or learn how to make a deluxe mousse cake. These will be a huge hit, so make sure you put your name down early. Classes will be held on Sunday afternoons from 3-6pm.

Chocolat also specialise in wedding cakes and catering.
