Cho Gao is a restaurant and bar. Cho Gao means "rice market" in Vietnamese language.
It is one of my favourite spots in Melbourne Central. Cho Gao is very spacious - there is a balcony and lounge area with comfortable sofas. The atmosphere is casual and relaxing with a mix of modern and old school music which I enjoy. Also Cho Gao is Asian inspired so it has mix of traditional and contemporary Asian style/culture.
Cho Gao does lunch, dinner and is available for functions. Bookings are required as they can get really busy (I have booked before and personnel are very good with their job). Otherwise if you and your mates are just up for a casual catch up - the cost of their alcohol and nibbles are reasonable.
They have cheap eats like pizza for $4.00 (specified time only) and drinks on special as well. One of their most popular specials is the $1.00 Champagne for Ladies on Thursday nights. They also have 2 for 1 cocktails on Thursday to Saturday (4pm to 7pm).
