The Chittering Valley

The Chittering Valley is one of the Perth Metro area's best kept secrets. At this time of year, it is a lovely drive through pretty rolling green hills, with the Brockman River flowing merrily beside parts of the road.

Nestled by the river among the green citrus fruit trees, is the Golden Grove Cafe. Stop for a break and enjoy a bowl of their delicious home made soup with bread and butter and/or toasted sandwiches, as well as other snacks if required.

We always enjoy their traditional Devonshire cream teas - scones with jam and cream, served with a pot of tea. If you wish, you can sit outside at the wooden tables, in the shade of large umbrellas, but of course you are welcome to eat inside.

You are welcome to cross the bridge over the Brockman River and to visit the sheds where top quality citrus fruits are on sale. The mandarins are especially sweet and juicy!

Take the Great Northern Highway to Bullsbrook. Go through the town, turn right at Chittering Road, go up the steep hill and enjoy the scenic drive. You cannot miss Golden Grove. It is on the right of the road and well sign posted.
