The Chittering Spring Festival is held annually over three days.

Chittering is full of beautiful hidden valleys, boutique farms, wineries, walk trails, art and more. It is only a short drive from Perth, being just 58 kms from the centre of Perth.

At this festival, they celebrate art, history and wildflowers throughout the region.

They will have the following:

  • Guided tours
  • A wildflower specimen display
  • Art and craft exhibitions
  • Workshops
  • Exhibits
  • Stalls
  • Historic Vehicles
  • Walks
  • Open Nurseries
  • And more

  • Some of the locations of interest include:

  • Chittering Landcare (Muchea)
  • Muchea Tree Farm
  • Holy Trinity Church
  • Brockman Centre
  • Chinkabee Complex
  • Bindoon Town Hall and Oval

  • Events on the oval include a senior's picnic on the Friday, Bindoon Farmer's Market on the Saturday, and Historic Vehicle Day on the Sunday.

Each year in Spring, Chittering comes alive with stunning wildflowers. The town of Bindoon, which is in the Chittering Shire, celebrates the season with its annual Spring Flower Festival.

The town of Bindoon also has its local gardens out in full colour. You can also go on the Bindoon Tale Trail for those wishing to take a stroll through the history of Bindoon and Chittering.

Most festival activities are within walking distance of the hall, apart from the Quilts in Spring and the Bindoon Museum. These are both located in the historical Brockman Centre, 6 kilometres South of the town.

Chittering Landcare also has a display of wildflower specimens at Old Gingin Road in Muchea. This will all be held from Friday 14th to Sunday 16th September.

The displays will be on at the Bindoon Town Hall, 6180 Great Northern Highway, Bindoon. There will also be an exhibit by the talented Billie Peka, this year in the hall!

In this Chittering Shire, there are so many hobby farms and producers, as well as roadside stalls dotted throughout the region. These stalls have either seasonal, or all year round produce. They are usually cheap, tree-ripened and the money goes straight back to the grower.

There is also a range of local produce available at the Chittering Visitors Centre. You can always purchase produce direct from the grower from the Northern Valleys Locavore Store.

There are many drives you can take, and one of these is Drive 359. This runs from Bullsbrook through the Chittering Valley, and back onto the Great Northern Highway just before the township of Bindoon.

    Other scenic drives are:

    - Along Pioneer Drive for a beautiful view over Bindoon
    - Through the hills of Mooliabeenee, taking the road along Wells Glover Road and Mooliabeenee Rds
    - Bindoon to Toodyay, taking Julimar Road and coming back on Dewars Pool Road
    - Bindoon Moora Road from Bindoon to Wannamal.

For seeing the wildflowers, a good drive is Great Northern Highway, Julimar Road, Dewars Pool Road, Reserve Road, Bindoon Moora Road to Wannamal; Chittering Road and Calingiri Road

This Spring Festival is well worth attending as it is relatively close to Perth and you will see a lovely array of our wildflowers as well as having all those other venues to visit.
