Escape the city and discover an amazing artist's studio

Perth artist Shabbi Phelps invites you to visit her Chittering Estate Studio every Sunday from 10am to 4pm.

Located in scenic and serene Lower Chittering, the Chittering Estate Studio makes for a wonderful day trip on a leisurely Sunday afternoon.

Shabbi's personal studio is housed in a converted cellar door of an established winery and features a wonderful range of handmade clay pots and organic paintings on canvas.

You are welcome to take a look around and if you are lucky, you may see Shabbi at work.

This is a great opportunity to see Shabbi's artistic process and see what inspires her.

The displayed works are available for sale.

"Forty years ago I bought my first bag of terracotta clay, and on opening that bag the smell of the earth and the texture of its contents put me on a path that would never end. From a simple ashtray to my sculptured forms of today, the journey has been quite colourful. With the ups and downs of life, hardships and happiness, clay (and further down the track, paint) has always made life's journey softer. Someone once told me "art is the easiest way of running away without leaving home", which is so true. "
