Newly opened at Grand Flaneur Beach in Chipping Norton is a state of the art all-ages outdoor gym, created as
as part of Liverpool City Council's commitment to providing a variety of outdoor recreation areas for residents to promote health and well being. It is one of the first of its kind in South West Sydney.

The Fit-for-Parks circuit equipment, worth over $80 000, has been designed with a broad range of uses to cater to all ages and fitness levels and comes with large, easy to follow signs explaining each piece and the ways it can be used by people of varying abilities. Equipment includes a stretch station, a shoulder press machine, a cross trainer and stationary bikes.

The gym is conveniently located next to the children's playgound, so that busy Mums and grandparents can exercise while the little ones are playing safely nearby in the fresh air and sunshine.

The gym is free to use and open 24 hours. Main focuses are on health and fitness through cardio vascular training as well as strength training and stretching exercises. It is easily accessible for those with mobility issues due to new pathways and soft rubber flooring.

When you have finished your workout there are nearby picnic facilities, lots of lovely walks to take around the lake and the small beach area for the kids to have a splash and a play in the sand .

Grand Flaneur Beach is located on a sandy bay area on the edge of Chipping Norton Lakes.

Wow! I didn't know places like these exist. These are built for public use and it is outdoor? I am astounded.
It is a really good idea though. It gets people motivated and for those who use any excuse to stay away from the gym to get healthy, there is no reason now.
It looks like there is some nice scenery in the background which would top the indoor gyms.
Even if there aren't regular people who go, at least there will be some people who are curious that will go just to check it out. I also, think it is really smart that there are instructions on how to use the equipment on each equipment.
This is very interesting, I think I might visit whenever I am near by just to take a look.
