Welcome in the 'Year of the Horse' at Sovereign Hill

2014 is the 'Year of the Horse' and to mark the start of the Chinese New Year, Sovereign Hill and the Chinese Australian Cultural Society Ballarat Inc are jointly presenting an exciting day of traditional Chinese activities on Sunday, 9 February 2013.

This special cultural celebration honours the Chinese community's influence on Ballarat and the gold rush era. There will be lots of interactive activities to participate in, as well as special cultural performances to enjoy throughout the day.

Festivities will begin in the Chinese Temple with a celebration to recognise the Chinese New Year of the Horse. Following this event, there will be traditional dragon and lion parades, Thai Chi demonstrations, ribbon dancing and much more.
