The official start of Chinese New Year is 19 February and all of Melbourne will be alight with festive fireworks, delicious foods and spectacular dragons.2015 celebrates the arrival of the Year of the Goat (sometimes referred to as Ram/Sheep) and throughout the month of February, Melburnians will be invited to partake in a great range of traditional festivities.
There will be vibrant dragon and lion dances to enjoy at Federation Square , Queen Victoria Market and Ballarat's Sovereign Hill . Families can view the fireworks displays at Eureka Skydeck 88 and Melbourne Star .You can also learn more about Chinese culture at ACMI's China Up Close program of insightful exhibitions, film screenings and engaging talks.
