New to Canberra, I love exploring this city and the secrets that it holds with my family.
A family friendly evening by Lake Burley Griffin
The Chinese Lantern Festival will be held at the Beijing Gardens, adjacent to Lennox Gardens, on February 11th, between 6:15pm - 8:45pm. This event is to celebrate the Lunar New Year, with a variety of cultural activities organised. Kids are encouraged to make their own lantern before they come, so they can enter it into the handmade lantern competition - with prizes awarded for the best lanterns. There are also lanterns to buy on the night. Take a picnic and enjoy the celebrations at this scenic picnic area on Lake Burley Griffin.

* In the event of rain, the festival will move to Lancaster Hall, 20-22 National Cct, Forrest.
