Lanterns will light up the Beijing Garden in Canberra

This year the Australia China Friendship Society will hold the Lantern Festival on Saturday 4 February 6.30-9.30pm at the Beijing Garden.

The Australia China Friendship Society has existed in the ACT for over 40 years and aims to promote friendship and understanding between the people of Australia and China.

The Society holds regular meetings covering a wide range of activities, which includes guest speakers, films, dinners and its big annual celebration, the Lantern Festival. The Lantern Festival includes a lantern-making workshop and a hand-made lantern competition.

This free event will also feature Chinese music, dancing, martial arts, and a Lantern Parade. No food is available for sale but you are invited to bring a picnic. Bottled water will be available for purchase.
