Dining out is back in fashion now that the COVID-19 lockdowns are behind us. There are many affordable options to get together over a meal such as the Queen Victoria Market's Wednesday Spaced Out and the City of Melbourne's Must Eats lunches.

If you're looking for some Chinese grub, there's always the Little Bourke Street Chinatown. To infuse the precinct's air with the delicious smells of cooked food and merriment, the Chinatown Precinct Association is hosting a Chinatown Melbourne Market.

Running 4pm to 10pm every Friday and Saturday from 16 April till 31 December 2021, this event serves up hawker-style outdoor street food in the Chinatown's Heffernan Lane. Think noodles, dumplings, skewers and desserts. Entry is free. Visit the website for more updates.

It's great that we are returning to some sort of normality. It may take time but with the initiatives mentioned in your article it may quicken the process.
