Escape For A Day
Chinamans Beach is a quiet beach tucked away behind Rosherville Reserve in Sydney's Middle Harbour just next door to Balmoral Beach and facing Clontarf Reserve. It is mainly frequented by locals and tends not to get too busy.

The beach is sheltered so there are no waves, making it ideal for swimming and snorkelling and young kids. If you enjoy canoeing or kayaking, this is also the perfect spot to go. The beach is very clean with beautiful white sand and clean water. Children will enjoy collecting shells, building sandcastles and exploring the rock formations, with lots of interesting plants and sea creatures.

There is no shade on the beach, so bring beach umbrellas and plenty of sunscreen. Alternatively you can escape to the reserve and relax under the large trees, which provide plenty of shade.

Rosherville Reserve has a small playground, lots of green grassy areas for kids to play on. A newly built toilet block provides excellent amenities including showers and bubblers.
No cafes or kiosks are near the beach so bring drinks, snacks and lunch. Although you will find some excellent restaurants just a short drive away at The Spit or at Balmoral Beach.

The best way to get to the beach and is by car, however, if you are travelling by public transport, catch Bus No 249 which stops at the Medusa Street lights. There is a small carpark near the reserve but it is expensive. Some unrestricted street parking is available on the adjacent roads.

This picturesque location is the perfect weekend getaway, so pack a picnic and escape for some rest and relaxation.

Great info! The snorkeling spots are located on left hand or right hand side of the beach when we are looking out to the sea?? I am also keen to take my 2 kids there to explore the rock formations too.
