Regional Victoria is set to come alive with parades and festivities this Labour Day long weekend with the arrival of the . Now in its 13th year, the event is Australia's fastest growing gay and lesbian festival.

Running from Friday 5th March to Monday 8th March, the is a vibrant celebration of community and diversity. Known for its unique regional setting in the quaint town of Daylesford (famous for its relaxing spas), the festival has earned a global reputation while also raising funds for local charities and causes.

This year's 'Bush Odyssey' program offers a wide range of events, beginning on Friday March 5th with 'The Slowest Lunch' at Sault restaurant with profits going towards the Fire Smart Appeal. The Chillout Street Parade on Sunday March 7th is a highlight of the festival and not to be missed for its fun and spectacle.

Following the parade is Carnival day which begins at 11.30am in Victoria Park. Music, stalls and food will be available, including fresh local produce to try. End the day at The Chillout Dance Party, where you can celebrate till the early hours of the morning. Tickets for this event are best purchased in advance as they tend to sell out fast.

There are also many more events from outdoor cinema screenings and bushwalks to line dancing and theatre. Festival goers might consider staying a few nights in Daylesford to make most of the festival, as well as exploring the surrounding area which is a popular place for visitors.
