Allergy friendly food for the soul

I visited Vietnam about 6 months ago, since then, my cravings for Spring Rolls have been unsatisfiable. This makes me very glad I found Chili Pepper, a Vietnamese restaurant on Mount Alexander road in Moonee Ponds.

After eating them at least twice a day for several weeks, I like to think I'm kind of an expert and Chili Pepper's spring rolls do not disappoint. They are hot, crispy and so delicious!

Chili Pepper make heaps of other great Vietnamese food too. The rice paper rolls, wontons and salt and pepper squid all make great entrees. While I'm a fan of the combination meat vermicelli noodles for main, or the chilli seafood sizzle plate.

The atmosphere is also great. The food is authentic but the restaurant décor is fashionable and not kitch, like many decent Asian restaurants. The place is quite small and can get a tad noisy, but if you book in advance you can usually secure a table near the front windows, or in the back corner.

The prices are reasonable, around $15 for a main and the wine is BYO, although they do have a good selection of both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks.

A fantastic way to reminisce and spend a cold Saturday night.
