The weekend of Saturday 9th and Sunday 10th of Feb, 2019 is set to be hot, hot, hot in Willunga. The famous Willunga Chilli Festival has found an exciting new venue and promises to be bigger than ever.
Steve and Lorraine from Hillside Herbs began their annual Chilli Festival in Willunga 15 years ago and it quickly grew into a popular event. The festival needed more space and the couple saw an opportunity to work with and help fund a major redevelopment of Willunga Recreation Park. Sitting pretty right in the heart of town, the park has gardens and halls that are ideal for festivals like the Almond Blossom Festival, and now Chilli Fest!
For just $5 entry, there'll be live music, stalls and chilli-related demonstrations, such as cooking with chillies, how to grow them, and even how to use them in floral art. Visitors can enjoy local beer and wine and chilli-inspired food in a shaded beer garden.

Lorraine of Hillside Herbs will give demonstrations of potting chillies & caring for your plants and there'll be chilli garland making on Sunday. Nicole of Blue Jasmine Personalised Catering will do a cooking demonstration and Joel from Chile Mojo will be speaking on all thing's chilli. Whites Valley Jalapenos will be bringing their award-winning, locally grown and made products, and the ever-popular Spice Girlz will be there with their 'condiments with a twist!' More vendors and attractions are being added all the time. This festival is shaping up to be huge!
