What a refreshing idea to have a picnic for children's week. A popular pastime steeped in the past, when the only entertainment was playing ball or cricket with the family. This picnic for Children's Week put on by the Hobson Bay City Council, held at Logan Reserve in Altona on Wednesday 28 October 2015 from 10am to 1pm is going to have a whole lot more.

Firstly everything is free to attend and all you need to do is pack your picnic and bring family and friends. This 9th annual Children's Week celebration picnic put on by the council comes complete with entertainment as follows.

  • Artea Art School
  • Bunnings Craft
  • Hobsons Bay Toy Libraries
  • Kid's Own Book Cubby
  • Pop up Playgroup
  • Jumping Castles
  • Face Painting
  • Drumming Workshops
  • Roving Performers
  • Trash Puppets
  • Story Time
  • Giant Games
  • Sensory Play
  • Animal Farm

  • And if that's not enough the Victoria Police, SES & Metropolitan Fire Brigade will have a presence there as well. The Williamstown High School, Newport Lakes Primary School and St Mary's Altona Primary School will be entertaining you with some musical performances to complete the day.

In case of wet weather the picnic will be held at Altona Library - 123 Queens street, Altona, and surrounding halls. Visit the Council or library website the day before for details.
