This year's Children's Book Festival will be held at the State Library of Victoria and the Wheeler Centre on Sunday 23rd March from 10am to 4pm. It will be a day jam-packed with fun activities for the whole family that you won't want to miss!



Start the day by weaving in and out of Polyglot's famous Sticky Maze made of sticky tape and newspaper, or head straight into the State Library to meet some of your favourite authors and illustrators. Don't forget to bring your book along for signing!

If you step out onto the lawns of the library, you will find characters sprung to life from the pages of popular storybooks, giant word games, and an outdoor stage that will keep you entertained all day with musical acts and stories from around the world.

You might also want to take a visit to the Workshop Zone on Little Lonsdale Street, where authors and illustrators will teach you the tricks of the trade, then head down to the Publishing House to create your own books to take home or to the Cowen Gallery and help fill the biggest book ever with your own illustrations.

If you want a place to sit and relax you can go to the Storytelling Pavilion and listen to stories all day long or go to the Village Roadshow Theatrette on Latrobe Street and watch a range of films based on books.



This is a free event. However, bookings are required for free sessions with Andy Griffiths, Terry Denton, Jackie French and John Marsden. Go to this page on Friday 14 March to reserve your place.
