Children with Potential is a two day conference to be held by The National Council of Women of Queensland Inc at The Lakes College (2 College St, North Lakes, Brisbane).
The conference title, Children with Potential, refers to Francoy Gagne's (2000) Differentiated Model of Giftedness and Talent (DMGT), a developmental theory which explores how natural abilities (gifts), can develop into expert skills (talent).
The two day conference program, to be held on Wednesday 26th and Thursday 27th September 2012, will feature a series of public lectures by special guest speakers, which will explore and detail Francoy Gagne's theory. These public lectures can be attended by children and parents - there will be public lectures dedicated to Prep to Year 2, Year 3 to Year 4, Year 5 to Year 8, as well as an All Children program.

Following the respective public lectures, children will then be invited to participate in a range of interactive workshops, while parents can attend a range of seminars. There are a number of children's workshops to choose from and all involve challenging activities pitched at abilities rather than age.
