Eating out with children can sometimes be a daunting experience but finding a place where children are welcome is brilliant. You need a place where the menu has food that appeals to children, the service is friendly and the atmosphere is fun, relaxed and welcoming.
Everybody goes to McDonalds or Hungry Jacks because they have children's play areas, which are great and the kids always love it. However, sometimes you want to go somewhere a bit more special with the kids, somewhere where you and the kids will be welcome, you can all have a good time and the other patrons won't be disturbed.
Outback Jacks has a great children's menu that includes chicken nuggets, sausages, mini pizzas and spaghetti all for a set price of $8.95 (for children under 12 years of age) and this comes with free ice cream. If your kids have eaten and don't just want to sit at the table with the grown-ups, there is a kid's room where they can play while you eat your meal. The room has TV's, PlayStations , toys, colouring books and stuff to keep your kids entertained for hours.
For fish lovers, Cicerello's in Fremantle is very family friendly, they have plenty of room and you can eat inside or out on the alfresco deck. They have a special kids menu which includes a fish basket, fish strips and chips or chicken strips and chips all for just $8.25 each.
The 7th Avenue Bar and Bistro in Midland is great for family dining. The restaurant area is separate from the bar and there is plenty of room for high chairs and prams. They offer a children's menu with meals like fish and chips, pizza, chicken nuggets and steak and chips all for around the $8.00 mark. The food is really good and the servings are quite generous too.
Hogs Breath Cafés have a slightly more varied kids menu serving the usual favourites, all for about $10.00 each. All kids meals come with a glass of soft drink and an ice cream dessert, so the kids will be happy with that.
If you like pizza, try Ruocco's Pizzeria in Fremantle, they have the usual chicken nuggets, fish and chips and spaghetti. They also have a children's size pizza, with a 'choose your own toppings' option. All children's meals are $8.00 each.
Brooklands Tavern has a great play area for the kids and a good kids menu, Sizzler is very Child Friendly and has kid's menu options as well as the famous salad bar and The Atrium Garden Restaurant in Fremantle serves buffet style meals with children's options.
There are of course many child-friendly restaurants and cafés in Perth and the surrounding areas. If you know of a good one please let us know.
A Korean restaurant named Ninniku Jip in Victoria Park. They have indoor playground with a glassed wall so parents can watch their children play whilst enjoying a glass or two with friends and families. It is a big restaurant and fully licensed.
The Eden Hill Bar and Bistro
There is an indoor play centre which also includes plenty of kiddie tables with drawing stuff and crayons.
While you eat you can watch your children have a great time and safely. Its a rare find and I am luck as I live up the road! Its perfect for our mums group dinners too :)
