The Chidlow Tavern will be hosting their annual BBQ event, The Chidlow BBQ Festival and Log Chop, from Saturday, 11 September 2021 to Sunday, 12 September 2021 from 10am to 11pm. The Chidlow BBQ Festival will be celebrating its third anniversary in 2021, which means more fun, more markets, more kids entertainment and best of all more delicious BBQ.
With the support of the Shire of Mundaring and the Progressive Axeman's Association of WA, the Chidlow BBQ Festival will feature the return of their internationally sanctioned (KCBS) master series BBQ contest, alongside a traditional log chop competition. In 2019, over 30 of the state's best axeman attended the Chidlow BBQ Festival to take part in the MASSIVE log chop competition. The event saw junior axemen, as well as seasoned veterans, battle it out in a spectacular display of strength and skill. Make sure to also check out the markets while visiting this year's festival. It will be a great chance to buy and support local businesses. Entry to the log chop and marketplace will be free. Don't forget to also check out the Kids Side Show Alley which will have entertainment and activities for children.
The Chidlow BBQ Festival is the perfect outing for foodies. For a small fee, BBQ lovers can purchase a tasting card and a handful of voting tokens and take part as a judge in the Chidlow Choice Competition. After you've had some delicious BBQ, why not pop into the Chidlow Tavern for a cold drink? The historical pub is rich in atmosphere and is well worth a visit.
