It may be the dead of winter but it's about to get a whole lot hotter at The Drum with a special season of the all-time favourite Chicago - the Musical.

This exciting new production follows the success of Windmill Theatre's critically acclaimed The Little Mermaid, which was brought to the stage by the talented team of Director Tyler Hess, Musical Director Anthony Barnhill and Choreographer Kirra Sibel.

The trio are once again joining forces to bring Chicago - the Musical to a brand new generation of theatregoers. Inspired by the vibrant and lavish depiction of the Broadway musical in the smash-hit 2012 feature film Chicago, Jonathan Guthrie-Jones, who plays Billy Flynn, said this fabulous production will see the "pretty, fake vaudeville world mirroring the dark, seedy reality."

Set in the legendary city during the roaring "jazz hot" 20s, Chicago tells the story of two rival vaudevillian murderesses locked up in Cook County Jail.

Nightclub star Velma Kelly (Eilannin Black) is serving time for killing her husband and sister after finding the two in bed together.

Driven chorus girl Roxie (Emily Mignot) has been tossed in the joint for bumping off the lover she's been cheating on her husband with.

Not one to rest on her laurels, Velma enlists the help of prison matron Mama Morton (Shanelle Jacobs) and slick lawyer Billy Flynn (Jonathan Guthrie-Jone), who turn Velma's incarceration into a murder-of-the-week media frenzy, thus preparing the world for a splashy showbiz comeback.

But Roxie's got some of her own tricks up her sleeve…

Filled with all your favourite musical numbers including "All That Jazz", "Cell Block Tango" and "When You're Good to Mama", this stellar production is sure to delight and enthral audiences of all ages.

Tickets are now on sale and priced from $34. Secure your ticket today at
