One need not worry about being harpooned with arrows by mischievous cherubs, as Valentine's week has officially commenced at Chicago's French Market (located within the Ogilvie station, 131 N. Clinton).

From 11am–2pm on Saturday, Feb. 11 vendors and purveyors of fine gourmet wares served up chocolate samples of the richest varieties during Chocolate Fest. Shoppers were treated to samplings of brownies, pastries, gelato and a variety of hot cocoa concoctions, while web grrl and Foodgasm chef Ashley Simone was on-hand providing Valentine's Day dish inspiration through hourly demonstrations and free recipes.

Be sure to stop by this week for Valentine's deals on fresh produce, meats, flowers and of course, chocolate to ring in your Valentine's Day.

Vendors like Sweet Miss Giving's baked treats, Lincoln Park's Delightful Pastries and Superior Nuts & Candy will undoubtedly have the goods to ensure Valentine's Day will be enjoyed by all. Leave it to the folks at Wisma to kick up your Valentine's dinner experience several notches.

See what you've been missing here.
