Chez Bertrand is a couple of very quirky apartments for rent in Paris proper. They are 30 minutes from the Eiffel Tower, 20 minutes from the Gare du Nord, where the Eurostar calls home and about an hour from major airports. You're close to trains and buses that deposit you just about anywhere in Paris, as well as in walking distance from hole in wall French bars and supermarkets filled with wine and cheese.
GVW stayed in Le STUDIO - set up to look and feel like you're staying on the Moon... well a 1960's "They Came from Outer Space" moon. The whole apartment is decked out in silver - even the bedding is silver, well much more comfortable than actual silver. The room has a king sized bed on a mezzanine, and a single bed downstairs, with a kitchenette and a shower/toilet.

It's only tiny but the French are by far the purveyors of making space out of tiny areas and the apartment in no way feels small.
Kids will love it and adults won't mind it one bit either - especially the unusual lighting that can turn the whole place into a purple disco palace.
The owner, Bertrand is very easy to deal with, and can get you on your way exploring Paris before you know it. We traversed the whole of Paris in four days, and never found it hard to get back to the apartment - no matter what time of day or night.
Stay here if you want a quirky place in Paris, and check out the Paris Flea Markets - the largest second hand market in the world, open Saturday-Monday each week. Or just be content with a large beer from the bar across the road, and go back to the room and chill on your silver bed, watching French TV on your flat screen.

Please note zero gravity is not included in the price and you will have to buy your own man in the moon cheese.
If the moon doesn't get you floating in outer space, Chez Bertrand has a couple of other choices you can pick from - sleep in a Citroen car or a round bed in Le LOFT or really get your quirk on in the candy inspired two bedroom apartment, L'APPART.
