Chevron City to Surf for Activ 2018

The Chevron City to Surf for Activ is in its 44th event this year! It is Western Australia's oldest and most loved community fun run. It is also an icon on the sporting calendar and well worth entering into. This year, it will be held on 26th August 2018.

In this event, you can either run, walk or roll your way through the 4 km, 12 km, half marathon or marathon - whichever suits you best.



It's open to all ages and fitness levels, so run for fun, dance your way to a PB or a podium finish!



Why? - you could even run with your best friend in tow!



The atmosphere for this event is quite contagious! The day itself turns out to be a day of fun and fitness, a "celebration of inspiration and achievement" for all. The race starts from the colonial heritage of St Georges Terrace and finishes on the green City Beach Oval park-lands with ocean views.



The marathon and half marathon go past the clear waters of the Swan River, the iconic Swan Brewery, and then on through the scenic route of Kings Park. As you run on these ones, you have an added bonus of fabulous views of the skyline across to the City.

The 12 km runners head up the hill and past Kings Park and then into the busy streets of Subiaco.



The family-friendly 4 km course joins onto the tail of everyone starting in Mclean Park and Floreat. It then heads over the hill to see that glorious view of the ocean! No matter which distance you choose to take, you will achieve an amazing goal supporting Activ, while seeing views that make Perth such a special place.

This event is Activ's largest annual fundraiser. Funds raised help to provide valuable programmes and services for thousands of people living with a disability. Activ has been working in this field in the community since 1951. They are now WA's leading disability services provider. They now help and support more than 2,000 individuals and their families across Western Australia.

As they have had over 65 years of supporting people living with an intellectual and developmental disability, they have a passion for people. Their purpose, vision and values all combine to explain what they actually stand for. Their purpose is to offer people living with a disability, the opportunity to enjoy full participation in their community, and to empower these people to lead the life they choose.

Their vision is simply "choice and freedom for all".

Over the last 15 or so years, they have raised over $10 million. This fundraising event is open to any charity, not-for-profit or school. So choose your distance, choose your cause and set your goals. Start 'fun-raising' for your chance to win, with over $50,000 in prizes!

You could be an "Activ Hero" by raising many necessary funds for Activ, while at the same time helping to reach their $1 million target.

In order to create a team - get your friends, family and co-workers to help you create a team. You can then run the race together or participate in different events and meet up at the "Finishers Festival" at City Beach Oval.
