Cherrywood Reserve

I am always looking out for new experiences, wherever I may find myself.

If you head towards the fringes of Wahroonga, past dog-friendly Claude Cameron Grove and East Wahroonga Shopping Centre, you will find the child-friendly Cherrywood Reserve. It stretches between Cherywood Avenue and Bunyana Avenue.

The park offers an open grassy space dotted with trees that provide valuable shade. There are swings and a playground over near Cherrywood Avenue.

The play equipment includes quite a lot of different pieces but they're all on the small side, so they're not going to keep older kids occupied for too long (but the park has got the open space for them to get other games going). The equipment is also relatively old and the playground is the kind that has bark chips underfoot.

Like nearby Eldinhope Green, Cherrywood Reserve probably isn't as regularly maintained or upgraded as somewhere like Wahroonga Park, but that's because far fewer people would visit these places and such a quiet setting makes them makes them valuable in their own way.

In my opinion, the best park in Wahroonga probably is Wahroonga Park but Golden Jubilee Field, near here in North Wahroonga, is pretty jammed-packed with facilities too, so it also impressed me.
