Ready for your stay in a secluded retro treehouse?
This treehouse retreat is ready to delight!
High up amongst the treetops in a secluded 1970's studio-style cottage overlooking an amazing English garden is where your next weekend getaway is waiting. Toast marshmallows on the open fire, lay back on the extravagant king-size bed while you stare up at the trees through the large windows encasing the room. Cherrytree Cottage is the place you want to be; to relax, enjoy, unwind and spend time with someone special or just yourself!
Only 20 minutes from Adelaide CBD, Cherrytree is located in Crafers in the Adelaide Hills, this 'treehouse' is designed to suit two people, although arrangements can be made to include an extra bed for a third person or child. This place is also pet friendly, and includes a fenced off area so pets can go outside without escaping. We thought this was a great feature of the accommodation.
Room with a View
We loved the kitchen, it was so homely and definitely a step up from your usual hotel-style. The retro wood finish has been kept in great condition. An assortment of teas and percolated coffee are available, which taste amazing while cosied by the fire. Cherrytree is a Bed & Breakfast, so you can organise a hamper or continental breakfast to cook yourself on a lazy Sunday morning. The eggs of course don't get much fresher than at Cherrytree! Our only niggle with the place is the bathroom - it is small and a little dark for our needs which makes shaving or make-up time a little difficult but by no means detracts from the overall.
Cherrytree is set back from the nearest street allowing for a quiet and peaceful experience. The gardens of the property are open for guests to wander and explore at their leisure; with over 3 acres of natural wonder to discover, this alone is a lovely addition to the stay. The garden has previously been showcased in the Australian Open Garden Scheme and also features a Japanese Water Garden. Kids have the opportunity to play in the cubby house or play in the pool on request. They may also be lucky enough to find a few roaming chooks! Yoga sessions with Apple Tree Yoga are also available next door - they have both private lessons and classes to accomodate everyone from beginners to advanced.
There is a lovely walking trail that runs along the side of the road to Crafers' main street where you have access to many cafes and restaurants full of local and delicious produce. If you can't find what you want in Crafers, Hahndorf and Stirling are only minutes away by car. Wineries are at your doorstep in the Adelaide Hills - so while you are there make sure to check out a few including some of our favourites - Bird in Hand, Deviation Rd Wines and Paracombe. Delicious! If you are also into hiking like we are, there are many trails in the surrounding area, or safe bike trails for any cyclists. The trails are abundant with local fauna and flora - so make sure you try to spot the local koala, kookaburra or even a giant worm!
A giant worm found along the trail into Crafers.
If you want to make Cherrytree the ultimate location - why not have your wedding there! The Laurels Wedding Garden features exotic plants and large mature trees providing a perfect backdrop for your special day and is available for bookings throughout summer, spring and autumn. Hire of the venue is only $600 and includes access for the rehearsal, ceremony and photography, 20 garden chairs and a signing table. Accommodation packages for staying at Cherrytree cottage are available for a private evening or two before the honeymoon.

If you really want to spoil yourself or a special someone, give yourself some timeout at Cherrytree. It's totally worth it, and we can guarantee that you will have the best sleep - that king-size bed is just superb!
We give Cherrytree Cottage 4/5 Wanders for taking us up to the treetops for a blissful private getaway with beautiful surrounds.
Where 1 Wander isn't worth getting off the couch for and 5 Wanders should leave a trail of dust in your wake: it's that good.
