Spring is definitely in the air and that means cherry season is just around the corner. Whilst you're waiting, why not check out CherryHill's Blossom Festival 2018 and see the magnificent cherry trees in all their blooming glory.

From Wednesday 26th September to Tuesday 2nd October, CherryHill Orchard , in the stunning Yarra Valley, is once again throwing open their gates for you to enjoy.

With parents everywhere looking for things to keep the kids busy during the school holidays, this is a great spring day out wandering amongst the cherry blossoms.

With plenty of space, grab your picnic basket, fill it with goodies and sit back and relax whilst enjoying some fabulous live music. Alternatively, the farm gate cafe will also be open where you can sample the range of cherry drinks and treat yourself to and some delicious cherry ice cream - freshly made on-site.

For the kids, there will be giant lawn games, selfie photo fun with props and free face painting.

This year, there will be hands-on workshops for both kids and adults:

Blossom Festival Workshops
We all know the importance of bees and without these little hard workers, there would be no cherries. Join local bee expert Holly Hale, who will be on hand running several Busy Bees workshops for the kids. Learn about the bee life-cycle, what makes up a hive and how the bees make all that yummy honey.

See a real hive of honey bees in action along with a demonstration of the different tools used in beekeeping. You'll also learn how bees help our environment and why they are so important in food production. Finally, what would be a beekeeping demonstration without plenty of honey to sample?

Suitable for children 4 years
Price: $5.00 per child

Beeswax Food Wrap Workshop
Beeswax food wraps are fantastic for replacing single-use plastic wrap and helping the environment and will save you money also.

During this workshop, you will learn all about beeswax and how honeybees make it and how you can make these simple food wraps at home. Each participant will make their own beeswax food wrap to take home on the day.

Suitable for children 14 years and adults
Price: $40.00 per person

Entry Ticket Pricing:

Adult: $10
Child (4-13 years): $5
Infant (3 and below): Free
Adult and Child tickets include a bottle of Cherish, a non-alcoholic sparkling cherry juice

Tickets are available online .

If you are wondering about cherry picking, the season commences around mid-November until early-January. The orchard and shop open every day through the cherry season, 9am-5pm (excluding Christmas Day). Check the website for details.

The friendly team will show you where and how to pick the juiciest, ripest cherries. Eat as many as you want at the orchard and then take some to enjoy at home.

And if you can't get to the orchard, their online cherry shop will also be open so that you can order fresh cherries delivered to your door.

CherryHill Orchards are located in the beautiful Yarra Valley approximately 1 hour away from Melbourne's CBD.
