Organics is becoming increasingly popular in Australia, however easy access to buying organic products is still fairly difficult outside of the basic range at the supermarkets and the farmers' markets. If you dig a little you will find organic shops around the suburbs. One example is Flannerys Organics in Chermside.
Located on Rode Rd in Chermside, this shop is a little out of the way so that many people in Chermside may not even realise there is an organics shop there. Flannerys has several stores around South East Queensland and is a pretty popular chain for people looking for organics products.
Has a wide range of organic products and I especially love products such as their ice cream and yogurt. But you will also find a bit of everything from gluten free, beauty products, health supplements, fish, meat and pet products. They also carry a range of books for the health conscious and ethical consumer.
Their fresh food selection is not that good compared with the markets, so I would I think anyone looking for fruit and vegetables would be better off visiting a farmers' market. They are also fairly pricey given that you can find similar organic products in Coles and Woolworths for a quarter of the price or less.
A great place to shop for organics in the Northern Suburbs, but you will still need to visit the local markets for fresh fruit and vegetables.
