I recently took the kids to the in Scotch Parade Chelsea Heights. Wow, what a great playground. There is something for everyone - including a "smurf-like' village for little kids, including an interactive music hut.

There are two great slides situated on Slide Mountain for bigger kids (bring a towel or a sack for faster descents).

You can also have your pick of swings - you will find swings for kids in wheelchairs, a hammock swing, a large net swing for up to eight kids to ride together, and all the garden variety swings as well.

If your kids love to bring their footballs or soccer balls, there are AFL goals and soccer goals to practice their skills. For the teens and adults there is a fitness circuit with weights and other equipment to increase strength and cardio.

If you just want to relax whilst the kids do all the active stuff, there are plenty of tables and chairs, including several wooden banana lounge type chairs where you can soak up some rays or read a good book (keeping one eye on the children at all times).
If you can fit the bikes in the car, bring them also, as there is a wonderful bike track meandering around the eastern side of the park.

I cannot fault this park and commend the council for its design and entertainment value.

is located on Scotch Parade, off Thames Promenade in Chelsea Heights.
