Found just about 30 minutes south of Cape Town, is a little town called Somerset West, which is the home of the . With roughly 7,500 cheetahs left in South Africa, the is one of the few locations that offer the general public the opportunity to touch and learn about cheetahs.

The is based on the old dynamite factory that was called De Beers. Getting there requires travelling along Broadway Road towards Strand, where you would enter to the Cheetah Reserve on De Beers Ave. You will be greeted by a security guard whom will record your name and number plate before allowing you to enter. The old De Beers Factory is known for its expansive land, which makes a great running ground for cheetahs. Plus, because of its location, De Beers has very high security fences which are a must to home these animals.

The offers a range of experiences for all ages. However, the best has to be entering into a cheetah enclosure and touching and watching a cheetah in an environment that is as natural as it can be. Cheetahs definitely have to be the most graceful of all wild cats.

An encounter of this nature can be one of your experiences. So, when in Somerset West, take the time to visit the . You will definitely leave with tons of memories to last a life time.
