Okay, so officially there is no "cheese trail" through the Clare Valley - but to satisfy the cheese chasers out there, here is a handy list of wineries and venues scattered through the Clare Valley that offer those dairy delights we love!
Clare Valley is located approximately 1.5 hours drive north of Adelaide, beginning officially in the township of Auburn as the gateway to the valley. Starting there, let's follow the trail of these hotspots from Auburn to Clare:

* * Getting There * *
The most direct route from Adelaide to Clare Valley is to follow Port Wakefield Road or the Northern Connector onto the Northern Expressway, and then turn left onto Horrocks Highway (Main North Road) just after the bypass to Gawler. There are numerous ways to see the valley: self-drive, bicycle or walk along the Riesling Trail, or organise a guided tour/bus with a local tour operator.
